Important Dates

December:
Students and parents get your federal PIN to sign your FAFSA if you do not already have one. Search for scholarships early.

January & February:
Gather federal income tax information to meet UNLV's Feb. 1 FAFSA and scholarships priority deadline.

March:
Financial aid award notifications are sent by the end of this month to admitted UNLV students, who have completed the FAFSA or have completed a Financial Aid & Scholarships Office scholarship application. Be sure to activate your award online as described in your award notification at this time.

If you are attending summer semester, the separate summer financial aid application is available online by the end of the month.

April:
If you estimated your income on the FAFSA in order to meet the Feb. 1 UNLV FAFSA application deadline, now is a good time to correct your FAFSA information.

May:
Notify Financial Aid & Scholarships of any outside scholarships that you have been awarded.

June:
Students who receive a federal Perkins loan must sign their Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling before Perkins loan proceeds will disburse to their cashiering accounts.

Students receiving federal subsidized, unsubsidized, or graduate PLUS loans must sign their master promissory note and complete entrance loan counseling before loan proceeds will disburse to their bursar accounts.

If you are interested in a parent PLUS loan or private alternative loan, complete the Parent Plus Loan Origination worksheet to determine the parent's (parents') loan eligibility.

Finalize your payment strategies with the Cashiering and Student Accounts Office.

July:
Submit any last-minute outstanding paperwork to financial aid. Make sure your financial aid awards match your hours of enrollment for the semester. Example: We award students financial aid on the basis of full-time attendance (12 credit hours or more). If you are not enrolled full time, you must notify the office or your financial aid will not disburse to your cashiering account.
